I just updated to DF 10.0 and my PC is now almost unusable. Any graphically-intensive program is refreshing significantly more slowly. As soon as I disable DF, performance is restored.

Same issue, DF is causing an odd stutter in gaming regardless of the intensity of the game. Log file attached, thanks.

I have this same issue as well.

Not with games, but with everyday apps such as Microsoft Office, Chrome, etc.

Ever since I upgraded to v10 my Display Fusion task eats about 6-15% CPU usuage at all times. It does not sound like a lot, but my system has been stuttering really bad since the update.

I closed Display Fusion, and my Windows 11 22H2 system is now acting normal/speedy again.

I have the trouble shooting file attached and a screenshot of the CPU usage.

Overwatch 2 with major stutters every 10ish seconds, and Far cry 3 in triple wide down to 50ish fps. Both run a smooth 60 without DF being open.

@fraXis Could you send me over a debug log? Here are the steps:

  • On the DisplayFusion Settings > Troubleshooting tab, change the Logging drop-down to "L1: Log Minimal" and click Apply
  • Reproduce the issue and note the time so we'll know where to check in the log file
  • Click the "Export Info to File" button on the Settings > Troubleshooting tab
  • Reply with the file attached
  • Disable debug logging after sending the log

@LoganDelp17972 & @DanielGenolet If you add your games to the compatibility list in DisplayFusion and turn on "Disable Titlebar Buttons", does that fix it up?

Disabling Titlebar Buttons had no effect on Far Cry 3, still frequent stuttering

If you also add the "Disable DisplayFusion Taskbars" compatibility option, does that make any difference?

Done. File attached. I also installed Beta 3. Same issue.

I have not been running DisplayFusion for the past couple of days, and my system is operating at normal speed. I started DisplayFusion beta 3 a few moments ago to generate your debug log, and my system slowed down again. The problem is definitely with the latest v10.x version of DisplayFusion. Never had this issue with v9.x or any previous versions.

Thanks for sending that over. We have some changes coming to our next beta that might help here, so we'll let you know once it's released to test out.

Thanks!

We've released a new beta with some changes, can you try it out and let me know if the issue persists?

Installing beta 4. I didn't see any mention in the change notes of this issue being fixed but I will try it out and report back if it's fixed or not.

Well, did the beta 4 resolve your issues? I think DF is impacting my performance and would love to know if this beta resolved?

I have also been having this problem since the 10.0 drop.

A lot screen tearing and FPS drops in all my games even after trying the latest beta (10.1 beta 6) and the titlebar fix.

I've been able to recreate and disable the lag with my League of Legends game client by closing and opening DisplayFusion with a game active so I am confident it is DF causing this problem.

League of Legends has it's own anti-cheat system that's likely conflicting with our hooks. If you add the app to the compatibilty list and turn on "Disable Application Hooks (this app only)", does the issue persist?

The lag is still happening after attempting this and goes away when closing DF with the game still open.

I was able to reproduce this on my end so I've added it to our list to look into. We'll let you know if we have anything further on it going forward.

You said you are getting performance drops in all your games, care to name them?
I'm wondering about DF in this regard too, and looks like the devs have been able to reproduce, but wondered how many game titles you had this issue with?

The most notable ones that I had lag with were:

Battlebit Remastered (even on the "Potato" settings)
Black Desert Online (on the lowest optimal mode)
Insurgency: Sandstorm (also on lowest on all settings)
Leafblower revolution

I thought there might be some more lag relating to mouse pointers being around window edges (like moving the screen in MOBAs and my pointer around in Leafblower), but it seems to affect most, if not all games, noticeably.
