pretty much every day i have to restart my PC because when i unlock the task bar, the start bar is missing from my 2 non-primary monitors and DF is using about a gb of memory.

i uninstalled DF and turned on the windows start bar again and things seem to be working better.

anyone else experiencing this kind of thing?

nothing crazy settings wise. i dont change any of the defaults except to not show the icons on each window by the minimize buttons in upper right.

hope its a known issue. i never had this happen before

We have actually had a couple of other folks report something similar to this. Could you attach a copy of your troubleshooting info? Here are the steps:

  • Open the Settings > Troubleshooting tab
  • Click the "Export Info to File" button
  • Reply with the file attached

I have the same I think. Firefox started crashing and then "MEMORY_MANAGEMENT" BSODs. Stops as soon as I close DisplayFusion.

I am having the exact same issue after upgrading to DF 9.3. My PC stays on 24x7, and it always seems to happen overnight every day - when unlocking the PC in the morning the taskbar is gone from the 3 non-primary monitors and is taking a large amount of RAM. Attached is the troubleshooting info I have from my current logon session which was recently restarted and thus not having any issues yet. Id be happy to try out a patch or beta copy if one is available.

I've had the same out of memory exception (in danish):

Program: DisplayFusion.exe
Framework-version: v4.0.30319
Beskrivelse: Denne proces blev afsluttet pga. en ubehandlet undtagelse.
Undtagelsesoplysninger: System.OutOfMemoryException
ved System.Threading.RegisteredWaitHandle..ctor()
ved System.Threading.ThreadPool.RegisterWaitForSingleObject(System.Threading.WaitHandle, System.Threading.WaitOrTimerCallback, System.Object, UInt32, Boolean, System.Threading.StackCrawlMark ByRef, Boolean)
ved System.Threading.ThreadPool.UnsafeRegisterWaitForSingleObject(System.Threading.WaitHandle, System.Threading.WaitOrTimerCallback, System.Object, System.TimeSpan, Boolean)
ved System.Runtime.Remoting.Channels.Ipc.ConnectionCache.TimeoutConnections(System.Object, Boolean)
ved System.Threading._ThreadPoolWaitOrTimerCallback.PerformWaitOrTimerCallback(System.Object, Boolean)

It occurs on a remote computer with windows 7 on an almost daily basis. I've currently downgraded to 8.1.2 since we cannot allow to display such error for our users.

We've just released a new beta a few minutes ago (9.4 Beta 2) and it has a new "Force Memory Cleanup" button on the Settings > Troubleshooting tab. When the memory usage is over 400 MB, could you try clicking that button to see if it frees up the memory back down to a reasonable level? This isn't a permanent solution, just a troubleshooting step to try and figure out where the memory is leaking.

Thanks!

tried the latest, still same thing. cant do anything besides reboot once memory usage tanks.

going back to 8.x as it works properly vs dealing with this constantly

I was facing the exact same Issue (Memory usage of up to 8-9GB) since 8.4 or so, until i've added DF (Folder and .exe) to the exeption list of my TrendMicro Security Suite. Since then it's running constantly in the range of 80mb - max.100mb.
System: Win10 Pro 64Bit, V1803, SysBuild 17134.228; Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770;
3 Monitors: 2x Dell U2713H (2560x1440), 1 x Dell U2913WM (2560x1080)
DF Version in use: currently: V9.3

Maybe you wanna give it a try, and add an exclusion Rule in Windows Defender... you can easily remove the rule if it doesn't work.

We're still working on it, no luck finding the root cause yet. I had emailed back on Oct 12 to see if you could send a regular debug log as well, would you be able to do that for us still?

what exactly are you looking for? under troubleshooting, what level of logging do you want enabled? L1-L3?

if this isnt the location for the debug log, please let me know where it is and i can look

Here are the full steps:

  • On the DisplayFusion Settings > Troubleshooting tab, change the Logging drop-down to "L1: Log Minimal" and click Apply
  • When the memory usage is over 500 MB, click the "Export Info to File" button on the Settings > Troubleshooting tab
  • Reply with the file attached
  • Disable debug logging after sending the log
