why does right clicking display fusions tray icon need 'Open task manager' cant the same be achieved clicking anywhere else on the taskbar? is this just because it shares the right click context with display fusions taskbar? Also the 'enable/disable taskbars' option when right clicking the tray icon may be better off without a parent (unless you have more options you plan on adding to the parent folder)

The tooltip for this option is cut off:
'Enable window caption bar middle-clicking to move windows to the next monitor (hold shift to move to'

Misc ideas.

1. 7+ taskbar tweaker has an option to open task manager when the taskbar is double clicked. This is pretty useful for quickly accessing task manager. This isn't a request, because i don't actually use the multi-monitor taskbar portion of your program so it wouldn't affect me either way.

2. I have absolutely no idea why windows doesn't have a quicker way to adjust volume. I would suggest that middle clicking on the taskbar function as a mute toggle, and using the scroll-wheel while on the taskbar function as volume control. I would love it if it worked on windows taskbar to ;P, so this one is a request ^^

3. Make display fusion more modular, Display fusion is becoming quite large, with many features, alot of which are rather niche. It might be time to go modular, and allow the user to only install certain components, and clear the right click context menu of uninstalled components. and add a page in the settings to toggle all the components, probably with a display fusion restart required.

Update: Right clicking on display fusions icon should have 'create taskbar on all screens' option rather than the current 'enable/disable taskbars' This new option wouldn't toggle the taskbars, but rather create a new taskbar on each screen without one.

AND the right click dialog on the taskbar should have its 'exit' item replaced with an 'close taskbar' option that removes just that taskbar.

This will provide more user control in a somewhat friendly manner :), though the re-use of previous options/text might be confusing.

Also if possible it would be nice to remove alot of the clutter from the taskbars right click, leaving only the basic functions. (you can put the other options on the tray icons right click)

You're correct, they share the same context menu, so that's the reason for both of the things you mentioned above :)

Regarding the tooltip being cut off, could you send me a screenshot? I'm not seeing the same issue here.

1. Neat idea, not sure if we can implement it in DisplayFusion, but I'll add it to our list anyways.

2. I think 7+ Taskbar Tweaker actually has an option to adjust the volume when you scroll the mouse wheel over the notification area on the Windows taskbar.

3. We've considered this, but for now it will stay as one package :).

You can right-click the taskbar and navigate to Multi-Monitor Taskbar > Position > Disabled to turn it off for just that monitor, and then you can enable all taskbars again using the button on the Settings > Taskbar tab.

We have an open item on our list for paring down the taskbar context menu, so that will be coming at some point in the future as well :)

Thanks!

1. are you saying there are some technical limitations preventing such an option? (not asking if you would consider it, just asking if its 'doable' as your post seems to suggest its not.)

2. Yes it does currently work on windows taskbars, and only for the notification area, I think think it would be better if it worked mostly everywhere on the taskbar. Except now that i think about it using the scroll wheel while hovering the titlebar of a window (or its taskbar button) could adjust the volume of that specific program :)

1. It should be do-able for the DisplayFusion taskbar, but we tend not to mess with the Windows taskbar more than we have to :)

2. No worries, I'll add your request to our list :)

Thanks!
