Before the update to 9.8 I used the compatibility setting "Disable Application Hooks" to prevent my borderless windowed game from being forced into my main zone, and instead allow it to automatically span the entire monitor. No that longer works and it makes me cry. It doesn't listen to shortcut either. Does anyone know how I can make my borderless windowed game span the fullscreen and ignore zones? :'(

Hello,

Strange, does the issue persist if you disable application hooks globally, in the DisplayFusion Advanced Settings window?

Thanks!

Yes. It appears to... but then Display Fusion loses most of it's functionality.

This is happening with Final Fantasy XIV. In the compatibility settings I have it set as ffxiv_dx11.exe.

The game will start spanning the entire screen. At some point, usually in the first ten minutes it will snap to my main monitor split. If I go into the game settings at this point and set it to full screen, hit apply, and then go back into setting and change to borderless window it will go back to spanning the full screen for the rest of the sessions until I exit and relaunch.

I haven't been able to identify if I'm doing something to cause it to snap to my monitor split.

Hello,

I've attached a link below to roll back to v9.7.1. Can you confirm for me that it works fine after rolling back?

Thanks!

Thank you for this link. I've downgraded and it works! My windowed fullscreen does not get snapped into the split.

Hello,

Interesting, I've attached 3 links below from some of our betas in between v9.7.1 and v9.8. Could you try those out and let me know if / which ones cause the issue again?

Thanks!

I forgot that I downgraded to fix this problem and recently upgraded and it has come back. However, the very first time on a fresh boot that I launch this application it goes fullscreen and does not get snapped. However, if I exit the application and then open it again it will get snapped instead of going fullscreen. I can't figure out why it only happens the second time around. :P

This is definitely a strange one. Could you send me over a debug log? Here are the steps:

  • On the DisplayFusion Settings > Troubleshooting tab, change the Logging drop-down to "L1: Log Minimal" and click Apply
  • Reproduce the issue and note the time so we'll know where to check in the log file
  • Click the "Export Info to File" button on the Settings > Troubleshooting tab
  • Reply with the file attached
  • Disable debug logging after sending the log

Thanks!

Hello,

Thanks for sending that over, we can't seem to reproduce this on our end.

How far into the game do you get before it snaps? Do you get past the title screen and into the actual game?

Also, if you enable "Force DisplayFusion to treat this as a full screen application", does the issue persist?

Thanks!

It happens immediately when the game loads up. I have the "Force DisplayFusion..." but it doesn't listen. It always happens if I exit the game and then reopen.

I've also tried Disable Application Hooks (this application only) and Disable Window Snapping (this application only).

Okay interesting, I wonder if DisplayFusion is detecting the window at all. Could you send me over another copy of your troubleshooting info while the game is running?

Also, does this issue happen if you have it set to run in full screen mode, or just borderless?

Thanks!

I will try to send one tomorrow. To fix this issue I can switch the game to full screen and then back to borderless windowed. It then stays spanning the full screen until I exit and re- enter the game.

Thanks for sending that over. We might be able to fix this up for our next beta, so we'll be sure to let you know once that's released.

Thanks!
