Hello!

I have another ALT-TAB annoyance. Not as bad as before when it would randomly drop me to the desktop, but almost heh. Sometimes when I ALT-TAB, there are no other window options save what I am on. If I let go and try again, they all appear. Any idea what's going on?

I am using the latest version. Here is the problem in action:

For now, I "fixed" it by disabling DisplayFusion's handling of ALT-TAB. Windows stock A-T though uses huge screen shots, I like my DF config better so I'm hoping there is a way to fix this :)

Thanks!

Could you send me a copy of your troubleshooting info? Here are the steps:

  • Open the Settings > Troubleshooting tab
  • Click the "Export Info to File" button
  • Reply with the file attached

Sorry, could you re-enable AltTab in DisplayFusion and send the info again?

Okie doke, I've attached it.

I also tested again once turning it back on to be sure it still is problematic; yep. After ALT-TABing like five or six times, it hit a spot where instead of showing the normal nine open windows it only shown two.

Thanks for sending that over. I think this might be related to having the "Show the Desktop window" setting disabled. If you enable that, does the issue stop?

Hmmm. In a prior post (https://www.displayfusion.com/Discussions/View/solved-alt-tab-hiding-everything-randomly/?ID=018d5395-27a4-70be-87dd-fe00b07f385a) I was advised to disable that to prevent another annoying thing that was happening with ALT-TAB, lol.

I guess now, unless there is a fix, I have to decide; which is the lesser of two evils? :)

EDIT: Err, maybe not. I turned SD back on then started banging away with ALT-TAB. It still happens where I notice one time during my tabbing there was just two window options instead of the nine or so there should be.

Okay strange, I can only reproduce it on my end with that setting disabled, but at least I can reproduce it. We'll add it to our list to look into.

Thanks!

Thanks a lot. It's great it can be reproduced; I hate when a client calls me and is like "yea, when I click this, it does that" and I screw with it for an hour and just can't get it to happen. It's amazing how putting your product in the hands of end users brings all sorts of weirdness to light :D
