so, a bit of backstory:
i "downgraded" my laptop to win8.1 from the win10 insider preview i had installed, so i can properly update my license to win10 (this machine doesn't have DF installed)
i made the mistake of logging in with the same Microsoft account which I'm using on my main machine.
so what happened? probably a setting sync.
and what *really* happened?
the background color of alt+tab changed to the color selected in the OOBE.
it took me a while to figure out that DF's alt+tab handling was causing this, is there any way to get the defaults back for that?
DF 8.0 Beta10
Sorry, to clarify, is the Alt+Tab Handler colour not matching the colour you've selected in the Windows settings?

i never recalled it having any background color at all (which was actually my preference) but yes, the color isn't matching up with what i have selected in windows settings either.

Ok, that's strange. I believe that our Alt+Tab Handler is supposed to detect the Aero colour automatically, but I'll do some more testing here to see what I can find out.
Ok, I finally had a chance to test this out, and confirm that it is indeed broken. It definitely used to work, so I'm not sure at what point that it broke. At any rate, we've added this to our list to fix up again, and we'll be sure to let you know when we do have it sorted out!
Thanks!

i do not see a change, did i miss a new setting or something like that?
Shouldn't have to, no. DisplayFusion's Alt+Tab Handler should be using the Start screen background colour, which should be the same as what the Windows 8.1 Alt+Tab Handler uses. What colour are you seeing with the the Windows one, and what colour is DisplayFusion's?

see attached screenshot, i also tried to re-set it, no dice.
edit: oops, misunderstood. here is second screenshot with alt tab handler disabled; i'm pretty sure that was the background "color" DF used before.

well, yes.
the machine i installed 8 on (since i used an insider build i needed to downgrade to 8 so i would have been able to upgrade to 10) never had DF installed, the color setting (or parts of it, since it never changed my accent color on *this* machine) probably got synced over when the OOBE on the box where i did install 8 on finished

Ok, just to make sure I'm understanding correctly, the machine that has the green background colour on the Alt+Tab window never had Windows 8 installed? It was a fresh install of Windows 10?

yep. but it used the same microsoft account as my other box did; which is why i suspected a settings sync gone rouge
If you open regedit and navigate to the key below, do you have a value there called "StartColor"?
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Accent

oh *thats* the one then, i already tried to look for color related things in the registry but i didn't find that one, deleted it and all is good (and the AccentColor one as well, just to be on the safe side as a fresh win10 (which doesn't use my account) does not have that one either)
thanks for pointing me in the right direction!
