Hi,
i have seen that .WEBP works as background when used as Image or Website - yet it doesnt support animated .WEBP yet
this would be a great feature as the filesize is significantly smaller than gif (or even h264 for videos)
also would be nice to be able to use local files for that - so that you implement it also as "video-background"

i updated to steam-version beta 11.0.6 -> and i cant choose webp in video-wallpaper.
if i use "show all types" -> i can choose webp but screen stays black.
using K-Lite 18.7.5

btw - i use the steam version -> even 11.1. beta 7 doesnt give me option for animated webp in video codec

11.0.5 is the last version with working Video-Background on Win11 24H2 -> so i suspect this is the reason animated webp dont work with 11.1 beta 7 on my system
Are you still testing with the Klite codec? I tried v11.0.5 and the latest beta here with that codec and it still fails, you'll likely need a different codec to run those videos.
I've added the auto detection in file selector issue to our list though

what other codec do you recommend?
btw - last working gif/mp4 video background was with 11.0.6 -> didnt get any video background with latest 11.1 beta 7

as k-lite has AV1 support it should work -> it doesnt
