Awesome product. However, I am having some efficiency issues.
What I'm trying to achieve:
- Move and resize several (10+) programs when I login with a specific monitor.
- When I change a monitor (2 other profiles) have those same programs change size and move somewhere else.
I've been able to achieve this through an exhaustive combination of triggers and desktop profiles. However, it would be a lot better if I could group triggers together.
Examples:
If '1-screen desktop profile' activated, move and resize 'group of applications.'
If '1-screen desktop profile' OR '2-screen desktop profile' activated, move and resize 'group of applications.'
Can this be done with the existing functionality in a better way than making a massive list of triggers?
You can create Window Position Profiles, and then assign them to Monitor Profiles so that they're automatically loaded when the Monitor Profile gets loaded.
Thanks for your reply, Keith. After playing around with the software I did discover how to link the Monitor Positions and Profiles. However, the issue I'm running into specifically is that I want certain programs (quite a few) to always be resized upon opening, but in different positions depending on 3 different monitor configuration states.
That's why I was wondering if profiles could be linked together--for instance, 2 of the 3 monitor states I have is an extended display with 2 monitors, vs. a single monitor display. Both of these configurations are the same resolution so I would just need the apps to be resized in the same way.
Perhaps I am expecting too much and just need to manually re-create everything. Another concern I have there though, is will making several doubled-up macros/positions/profiles have a performance impact?
Perhaps this could be simplified if triggers could have multiple programs attached. So if I load Steam OR Origin (and so on) then load window position profile x.
Ok, I see what you mean. You're sort of looking for a combination of Triggers and Window Position Profiles, so that the apps will get moved when the open, and also when you change Monitor Profiles?

Yes. Exactly. Beyond my issue it could be a useful feature to extend the functionality of the existing trigger system.
