Hi,
I have four monitors. Normally I use three, and when I'm sharing with a team member I turn on the fourth. I have two DF monitor profiles: ON and OFF. This works great except for two things.

1. When switching between profiles, open applications refuse to stay where they are. They move around seemingly randomly.
2. Switching between profiles takes a long time for the wallpaper to settle out.

Another issue that bugs me is that I have "Center Child Windows over the Parent Window" ON, and "Move child windows that are on the same monitor as the parent window" OFF, but DF continues to center up ALL child windows regardless.

Any help appreciated!

For the window positions, could you try this?

  • On the Settings > Functions tab, assign a key combination to the "Save Window Positions" and "Restore Window Positions" functions.
  • Using the key comabintions, save the positions before switching profiles, then restore them after.

For the wallpaper, there isn't much we can do to speed it up, but if you don't want it to adjust at all when switching profiles, you can disable the "Autofix the wallpaper" option in the Wallpaper > Wallpaper Settings window.

For the centre child windows issue, I've never run into that before. Could you attach a debug log?

  • On the DisplayFusion Settings > Troubleshooting tab, change the Logging drop-down to "L1: Log Minimal" and click Apply
  • Reproduce the issue and note the time so we'll know where to check in the log file
  • Click the "Export Info to File" button on the Settings > Troubleshooting tab
  • Reply with the file attached
  • Disable debug logging after sending the log
