I have the trial for now and I am trying to find a way to have automatic resolution detection/adjustment when I switch monitors. I have to admit I am not sure of all of the features of fusion so I am asking if it can do what I want here. I can possibly do what I want with 2 video cards and that is possible if necessary although I wonder whether that would do what I really want here without some of the same steps anyway.

I have a vid card with a dvi and a vga out. I run a secondary monitor with my email and audio program doings. At times I like to go to my remote location which is set up with a monitor and usb (mouse/keyboard) feeds and I want that secondary monitor screen to be switchable back and forth between that secondary monitors view. In windows it is too much of a pain to first turn on the remote monitor then return to the pc and flick a kvm to the remote monitor and then have to pull up control panel display and click detect, etc to get the resolution correct. One time a day for this procedure may be ok but having to do that back and forth multiple times if I move around would take the fun out of life. Can the preferences be set up so when a monitor is powered on it will automatically be set up to go on with everything the way I want it? Can that be done where I don’t even have to flip a switch to swap the view to that remote monitor just turn the monitor on?

I suppose I could go to the same resolution monitors and that would probably work easily, but I’d rather not if I can do this otherwise. Any way to do this kind of thing? If it will only work with multiple vid cards, anything special I need to do there? I don’t think I really need full task bars, but it may be nice to have. Thanks.

It's not really possible to have it automatically switch, but you could setup the two different monitor configurations as Monitor Profiles in DisplayFusion, and then you can just switch between them with hotkeys :)

More details on Monitor Profiles can be found here: https://www.displayfusion.com/KB/WindowLocation

Hope that helps!

Ok, I’ll look into that. I kind of thought there was what you mentioned with DF, but I wanted to make sure my actual question was also answered first. Thanks, I’ll see what I can do, that may work fine for me.
