I am using DF on an ultrawide monitor where I usually only have to switch resolutions when presenting something using Skype for Business.

Is there a way to auto-save the window positions *before* switching to the new monitor profile and then restoring the previous auto-saved positions from that new profile?

This way, if I switch profiles, I get the previous layout for any windows still present and when switching back, all windows move to their original position from before the call.

Note that I use 5 profiles across 2 resolutions so I do not know the sequence in which those will be selected over the day.

Are you always switching back to the same profile? So throughout the day you go profile 1 --> 2, then back to 1, or 1 --> 3, then back to 1?

Normally that depends on the work I'm doing so the order is rather arbitrary. But I could ditch a few layouts if it solves this issue.

So assuming I'd always switch through layout 2 and I reduce to 3 layouts, so it's 1 to 2 or vice versa or 2 to 3 and vice versa, would that make the solution easier?

Ok, I've attached a sample scripted function that you can import on the DisplayFusion Settings > Functions tab.

You'll need to edit the source and target monitor profile names near the top of the script to match your profiles.

You can then import multiple copies of the script (rename them) for the various combinations.

Hope that helps!
