This is just a behavioral difference between windows taskbar and display fusion taskbar. When clicking through a group of Explorer Windows the icon in the taskbar changes for the group to reflect the currently selected window's icon. (See attachment for capture). I would not consider this a problem, because in some ways it can be considered beneficial. However, for myself, I have become accustomed to look for the Windows Explorer Icon in the tray when looking for the group of windows. Therefore, if an option could be added to let the icon switch or stay constant with the parent program, that would be great.

This one's on our list to fix. However, we'll likely just make it behave the same as the Windows taskbar without adding an option to toggle the behaviour.

Thanks!

I hate to necropost this 4 year old thread, but I made an account just to say that Windows Explorer is still showing the wrong icon. :(

You can actually fix this up with a Compatibility rule now. Just add one for explorer.exe, and in the rule, enable the "Use process file icon..." option :)
