When I press the Alt + F key combo my inactive displays get dimmed. This is a problem because on EU keyboards that key combo is used to place this symbol [ which is often used in programming .

You can change it to anything you want in the options. It by default should be Ctrl+Alt+F, and not just Alt+F.
