I accidentally created a virtual desktop today (CTRL-Windows-D).

I noticed that DisplayFusion title bar buttons remained on the new virtual desktop even though the window itself did not. Also, those buttons remained "functional" even though the window itself remained invisible.

Hmm... side question - can you have different wallpapers per virtual desktop?

FYI:
CTRL-Windows-D: Create virtual desktop (unlimited number of)
CTRL-Windows-left/right arrow: switch between
CTRL-Windows-F4: delete current virtual desktop
Windows-Tab: Task swapper that has virtual desktop selector as well (as opposed to ALT-TAB).

I wasn't able to reproduce that here. Are you on the Windows 10 Fall Creators update, or the latest insider build?

From "winver": Windows 10 Version 1709 (OS Built 16299.371)
As for anything beyond that, I don't know unless you can tell me where to look ;-)

Thanks! I still can't seem to reproduce it here. This is what I tried:

  • Open a File Explorer window on the Primary monitor
  • Press Ctrl + Win + D
  • The new virtual desktop opens, and the TitleBar from the Explorer window is there for about 1 second and then it disappears

Did I miss any steps?

The buttons seemed to remain longer than that for me. Also, to clarify, it wasn't the full title bar. Just the DF title bar button(s) floating alone.

In any regard, give those latent buttons a press, and you'll see they'll move to accommodate an invisible window as well. I didn't go further than that with my own testing.

Cheers,
Al

They don't stay on the screen long enough for me to click them :(

Can you time how long they stay on your screen? If you could attach a debug log as well, that would help:

  • On the DisplayFusion Settings > Troubleshooting tab, change the Logging drop-down to "L1: Log Minimal" and click Apply
  • Reproduce the issue and note the time so we'll know where to check in the log file
  • Click the "Export Info to File" button on the Settings > Troubleshooting tab
  • Reply with the file attached
  • Disable debug logging after sending the log
