Hi guys
If I'm currently using my secondary monitor and press the WIN key, the Start Menu pops up on the primary monitor. Then, when I start typing, the Start Menu on the primary closes, and opens on the secondary monitor.
Thought ya'll like to know, and I hope I explained it well enough. Please ask for clarification if needed.
I'm on Win7 SP1 x64.
Thanks, as usual, for this wonderful product!

Bug confirmed on my Win 7 x64 Professional and Win 7 x86 Professional systems. It also happens in earlier versions of DF as well.
ASUS home built Pc on Windows 10 x64 Pro with 3 Dell U2719D monitors. Dell XPS 8940SE on Windows 11x64 Pro with 2 Dell U2719D monitors.
Thanks for the heads up guys! I've confirmed as well, and we'll hopefully have it fixed for 3.4.0 Beta 7.
Thanks!
Quick follow-up: 3.4.0 Beta 7 is out now and this issue should be resolved. Could you give it a try and let me know how it goes?
Thanks!

It now opens on the proper monitor. However, the first time it is opened, it is partially behind a vertical left taskbar.

Indeed it does! I've added it to our list.

Hi,
i am using 3.4.0 Beta 7.
Still having the similar issue: My main monitor is left, display fusion is on secondary on the right.
Primary monitor (windows standard task bar) is fine.
But when i press the Win-Key on the secondary monitor, the display fusion start button is 'glowing' as if it recognized the key press, but still the primary monitor start menu opens, on the secondary besides this glowing nothing is happening.
If i minimize the second monitor applications and put mouse focus to the desktop on the second monitor itself, and afterwards press the Win-Key, the start menu on the second monitor is correctly popping up.
thanks a lot.
Could you enable debug logging and send me the log after reproducing the issue?
To do this:
- Enable debug logging on the Troubleshooting tab and apply the settings
- Reproduce the issue and note the time
- Click the Open Log Location button on the Troubleshooting tab
- Email me the DisplayFusion.log file, the text from the Troubleshooting tab, and the time that the issue occurred
Thanks!

thanks a lot for that fast checking...
I will wait for that update then, and if i still face some issues, i will do the log file task (which mail address from the contact page is the best one to send the files to?)
Sounds good, if it's still broken in 3.4.0 Beta 9, please send the debug logs to support@displayfusion.com
Thanks!

This appears to be fully resolved on my systems.
Thanks for the prompt fixes.

Thank you for the email, Christian. I have fixed a few more issues that should correct this issue in Beta 10. Once Beta 10 comes out, can you give it a try and follow-up again? Thanks!

sorry for replying late. In the meanwhile i upgraded first to beta 10, now to beta 11, but the problem remains. I still cannot get the start menu by pressing Win-Key on the secondary monitor (unless i minimize all open windows to desktop first).
@Christian, can you download 3.3.1 and let me know if the issue exists in that version? We'll need to track it back to a specific version to try and narrow down any changes that would have caused the issue. I apologize for starting from square one, but it appears to be a different issue from what the OP reported.
Thanks!

Hi Keith,
thanks for the hint.
Installed 3.3.1 again right now and ... yeah ... it's working find with that one.

Thanks, did that right now. It's Beta 4.
Until 3 it's working as expected, as soon as I install 4, the described symptoms start.
Ok thanks, just to clarify, it does work fine if you just click on the Start button using the mouse?
Also, could you list the programs that you have running on the second screen when it's not working correctly?
Thanks!

The problem is not based on the running programs. I can have multiple windows of whatever type open, as long as i click the underlying desktop wallpaper before pressing the Win-Key it's working (even with programs open, just not focussed).
As soon as i put the focus in any of the open programs (even without changing their monitor or size inbetween, just due to focus switch) it's no longer working.
But, i just tested something else which came to my mind suddenly: I normally work with Win7-Standard-Mouse-Setting "Activate a window by hovering over it with the mouse". I just deactivated that function again, and now everything is working properly. So there seems to be some relation to that functionality.
Awesome, good catch! I've confirmed the issue and will add it to our list.
Thanks!
Just a quick update on this: at the moment, we're not able to resolve the issue with the Start Menu when the "Activate a window by hovering over it with the mouse" Accessibility option is enabled in Windows.
However, if you go to DisplayFusion Settings > Advanced Settings, and set the "Taskbar: Windows Key Opens Secondary Start Menu Disabled" option to 1, and restart DisplayFusion, you'll at least be able to use the Windows key to open the Start Menu on the native Windows taskbar.
Thanks!
