Ok, so I have something of a wierd set up. I bought a 4k TV and needed to get a DisplayPort to HDMI adapter to be able to run 4k@60hz. Unfortunately, MSI's displayports don't allow 7.1 channel audio over display port, which means I have to run an HDMI cable to the reciever, purely for the purposes of audio.

SInce running audio over hdmi requires video, I'm stuck with a second monitor that I can't see and occasionally lose windows too.

The biggest problem is that if I run a game at 1920x1080, than Windows moves a lot of the windows to the second monitor. And it's hard to get them back.

Things I've done:
On startup lock cursor to current monitor.
On window create: move to Monitor 2
On window restore: move to Monitor 2

Those help a little bit, but they don't seem reliable and I still lose windows to other monitor.

I was wondering if anyone had any advice on how else I could resolve this?
Thanks!

There isn't really a way to "virtually" disable the monitor, unfortunately. What you could do is assign a key combination to the "Move all windows to current monitor" function on the Settings > Functions tab. After exiting your game, if there are windows stuck on the non-existent monitor, you can press the key combo to move them all back to the monitor that the mouse cursor is on.

Hope that helps!

Could you set the second monitor output as clone in windows, rather than extend? Shouldn't lose windows then as it's just extending your current 4k TV.
