As attached, it in unclear to see how existing monitor profiles are sorted.

Renaming profiles will move them around, but a bit of guessing is needed.

They'll be sorted alphabetically, with profiles created on the latest version at the top, and older versions below. Do the profiles sorted out of alphabetical order have an asterisks at the end?

Thank you for mentioning that monitor profiles are first sorted by version, then by name. I think this explains perfectly what was happening with the out-of-the-order monitor profiles.

Does saving the profile under the same name update the ordreing necessarily? If so, to restore alphabetical ordering, how often should I be saving the profiles again? Say, would this be a one-time only update from version 9.9 to 10, or would futuer updates of 10.1, 10.2 ... each require another round of manual updates?

Actually, given the CLI support of the
-monitorloadprofile
flag, I should probably try not to activate mointor profiles manually.

PS: I don't have asterisk anywhere in my profile names.

For profiles made before v10, you'll have to delete and recreate them, as we overhauled our monitor configuration code (post on that here: https://www.displayfusion.com/Discussions/View/monitor-configuration-backend-completely-revamped-in-displayfusion-100-b18/?ID=b17dacd1-0611-48c1-a29c-3a3e5046812a). Normally just clicking the "Save Profile" button will update them though :)

Great, glad to know that this is a one-time only exercise.
