You might be able to do this with the new Triggers feature in the DisplayFusion 8.0 Beta version. What type of application is it?

Sorry, GalCiv3 via Steam if that matters.
Does the game run windowed, or full screen?

Unfortunately, the Trigger didn't work using GalCiv3 EXE as the trigger. I changed it to the Stream main app, and that worked great. Don't worry, I blame Stream and how they kind of lock games to them on the PC.
Thanks again!
No worries, glad to hear you were able to get it sorted out!

Unfortunately, after a week of using the trigger functionality, I have noticed that the Trigger stops working.
I have it configured to stop the screen saver when Steam is running, but for some reason, it thinks that steam stops running and the screen saver is started again.
Now GalCiv 3 still has performance issues (memory and cpu hog to boot) and tends to go Non-responsive randomly, but does return to responsiveness, and since it is tied to Steam, it might confuse Display Fusion.

Also it might be helpful to know my GalCiv 3 game is at about 500 turns and is configured for gigantic and the number of objects/ships etc is extreme.
I have a Dell Alienware Aurora, 16 gig of RAM, i7 running at 3.4, 64 bit windows, with SATA SSD drive.
Ok, strange that it didn't work with the GalCiv EXE anyways. After GalCiv launches, is there a different EXE that the game runs in?
Instead of disabling the screen saver automatically, you could assign key combinations to the "Disable/Enable Screen Saver" functions on the DF Settings > Functions tab. You can then manually disable it and re-enable it when done with the game.
