Is there a way to change the text color on the task bar in Win 7 with DF?
The default white text isn't high enough contrast to be easily read.
TIA
If you mean the clock text then right click on the DF taskbar then on settings.
Click on Advanced Settings at the bottom of the window and then scroll down to Clock Text Colour.
Double click on it and enter your desired colour in RGB seperated by commas, for example blue would be 0,0,255
Click OK then restart DF to see your colour change.
If you need a RGB colour code chart you will find one here: http://www.rapidtables.com/web/color/RGB_Color.htm

Alan!
That's close to what we're looking for.
But:
1. Rather than making changes in the system tray, we want to change the task bar icons that show each program that is running.
2. We want to change the background of those buttons rather than just their text. The background today is an uneven black, as-if illuminated by a light to their northwest. It's that side-lit coloring we want to remove.
We experimented with high contrast settings in the Control Panel, but they change too many screen components.
3. We want to do it for all taskbars.

Try this:
Right mouse on Desktop and select Personalise.
Select Windows Colour at the bottom of the screen.
Uncheck the Enable Transparency.
Make sure you select the color you want and make sure you Colour inensity is about 75%

Thanks for the suggestion, Alan.
Your steps change the title bar on windows, but not the task bar buttons.
