I have issue with child windows, too. In the screenshot you can see that DF shows the child window in windows management but, is not able to manage it (and the DF buttons are missing in the child window).

Is that window an MDI window? e.g. if you drag it to move it, does it stay within the main window for that application?

I think it's OpenGL because there is an option for OpenGL acceleration.
Child windows can be moved anywhere outside the application. There is also an option ("Floating frames", FDI?) that allow to minimize the main window only while keeping the child windows exposed. In the taskbar there is only the the main app. The app is available also for Mac, I think it should use some multiplatform type.

If you click on that Sync Transport window and press Ctrl + Win + X, does it move to the next monitor?

Yes. In fact, I don't what I did but, finally it seems to work. It recalls windows profiles correctly. Only the DF buttons are missing on child windows. Great :)

It will be cool to be able to access all detected windows options (including childs) on right click of DF tray icon.

Ok, could you send me a debug log for this?

  • On the DisplayFusion Settings > Troubleshooting tab, change the Logging drop-down to "L1: Log Minimal" and click Apply
  • Make sure that window is open, then try loading the Window Position Profile
  • Click the "Export Info to File" button on the Settings > Troubleshooting tab
  • Reply with the file attached
  • Disable debug logging after sending the log

Thanks!

Hah, sorry about that! I must have been replying right at the same time you edited :)

Glad to hear it's working now! I'm not quite sure what you mean by this though:

I'm not quite sure what you mean by this though:

I mean a sub-menu with all detected windows on DF icon right click, to select them.

And adding a customizable menu like this would be possible? For example, instead of windows title bar functions buttons?
https://github.com/AlexanderPro/SmartSystemMenu
Or adding a drop down menu to windows title bar?

No worries! So you mean you'd like to right-click the tray icon, then go to Window Position Profiles > Profile Name > Program Name to load a specific entry instead of the entire profile?

Regarding the system menu thing, we do have that on our feature request list, so I've added your vote to it :)

Thanks!
