For a while now, I've noticed that some Citrix windows would disappear both from the taskbar as well as be somewhat clipped off if they were visible on screen. The only way to get these windows to reappear would be to relaunch the application through Citrix. I've also attached debug information as well.

Notice this excel window (citrix window) is clipped. It only appears because there's another Citrix window with the same size. The excel icon does not appear in the taskbar.

Could you do the following to send me some more information about the application window that's having this issue?

  • Install one of our other apps, Window Inspector: https://www.binaryfortress.com/windowinspector (it's free)
  • Open the affected application
  • Open Window Inspector
  • Hover over the affected window with your mouse so that the affected window's info shows in the Window Inspector window
  • Press Ctrl + Shift + F1 to freeze the timer in Window Inspector
  • Press Ctrl + Shift + F2 to save the info from Window Inspector to a file
  • Send me the file from the previous step

Thanks!

I've attached the log file as well as a screen shot of what it looks like. In this example, very similar behavior, a MS Edge window from Citrix is "lost" as there is no taskbar button. It's only visible by bringing another window onto this monitor.

I can interact with the window but can't separate select it via the taskbar or click on the window if it is not active.

Thanks for sending that over. Could you send me a debug log as well? Here are the steps:

  • On the DisplayFusion Settings > Troubleshooting tab, change the Logging drop-down to "L1: Log Minimal"
  • Reproduce the issue and note the time so we'll know where to check in the log file
  • Click the "Export Info to File" button on the Settings > Troubleshooting tab
  • Reply with the file attached
  • Disable debug logging after sending the log

Looks like you attached one in your initial post. We'll take a look into and let you know if we need any other info.

Thanks!

Thanks for sending that over. Just to confirm, are you running Citrix apps on your desktop, or are you running a full Citrix desktop, with DisplayFusion installed inside of that?

I'm running Citrix apps on my desktop via seamless mode.

I noticed that when I accidentally removed Citrix seamless mode and put Citrix back into seamless mode, the windows reappeared.

Basically, this is a workaround to the problem.
