With monitor fading on, when I click on the windows icon to open the start menu in a secondary monitor that is in focus (or press the windows key), that monitor fades out and the main monitor comes into focus. I think this started after the major update a few weeks back. But I did change to an ARM system not long before the update so maybe it is related to that. Is anyone else having this problem? Is there a way to get previous versions to troubleshoot?

Thanks

That's very strange! You can download the older versions from here:

Which monitor fading mode are you using?

I'm using Fade Non-Current Monitors. It also happens on Fade Everything Except Current Window. It doesn't happen on Fade Monitor #2. I'll try some older versions and let you know what happens. Thanks!

That would be fantastic, if you can let us know which version works correctly and where it breaks we can narrow down what the issue might be. Thanks!

Ok, confusing results. Going back to 10 or 10.1.1 or 10.1.2 didn't fix it so I thought it must be my new setup. But then I tried a 2021 version, which wouldn't run because it didn't copy the licence key into the install. I bought DF through Steam, so I installed the version on there, which I think is still 10.1.2. At that point the issue DIDN'T occur. I've since updated to the latest version again and the issue hasn't returned. I THINK what happened is that upon installing the 2021 version, it reverted the settings to default (certainly at least some settings were changed). And those reverted settings carried over to the Steam download and then to the latest version. So I guess what I need to do is play around with the settings and try to recreate the problem.

I won't troubleshoot further for at least a few days though - quite busy and happy to just have this issue gone for now. But I'll play around with it when I have the time and let you know if I figure what happened. Happy holidays!

Figured it out! It's the multi-monitor taskbar setting. No problem with it turned off. Problem returns with it turned on.

That's very interesting! We can dig into this more next week and we'll see what we can find. Thanks!

We've released a new beta with some changes that might help here. Can you try it out and let me know if you the issue persists? Here's the link: https://www.displayfusion.com/Download/Beta/
