Hi,

I've got four identical monitors in portrait mode and I would like to be able to combine some or all of the monitors to create a larger virtual monitor. Unfortunately as I have an Nvidia graphics card (GTX 590) I can't enable the Nvidia surround mode to create larger monitors as it only supports up to three monitors.

Great program by the way.

DisplayFusion unfortunately can't combine monitors like Surround/Eyefinity does. Does your card support Surround using 3 monitors? If so, you may be able to connect the fourth monitor using a USB video adapter, though it wouldn't be part of the Surround group.

Alternatively, you could get a card that can do Eyefinity with four monitors, like this one: http://www.amd.com/us/products/workstation/graphics/ati-firemv-2d/2460-mv/Pages/2460-firemv.aspx

I've got that card here, and it works great, though it's not a gaming card by any means.

Hope that helps!

Thanks for replying Keith, given that I spent the best part of 1000 Euro on the card I am kind of reluctant to change it or degrade performance via a USB dongle. I will just have to stick with manually expanding my windows across two screens when I need them, unless of course you could add a feature to window location, to allow a window to span across a number of selected adjacent monitors :-).

You can do that using a custom Function that you can call from a Window Location rule. Check out the second screenshot in the following How-To guide: http://www.displayfusion.com/News/2013/10/working-with-custom-functions/ :)

Just create a Function similar to that one, then create a new Window Location rule that runs that Function.
