So here's my set up. I have an Nvidia Shield Android TV connected to the TV in my living room. I also have a dual monitor PC in my office. I can use Remote Desktop, that comes with windows, to display my PRIMARY monitor to the TV in the living room. (I can't get it to display just the SECONDARYmonitor only, so if anyone has any tricks for that, please let me know.)
My PRIMARYmonitor is in portrait mode, and the SECONDARYmonitor is in landscape. When the TV is not in use we rotate it into portrait mode, cast the PRIMARYmonitor to it, and use it as a picture frame, or for browsing the web from the kitchen.
So basically I need my SECONDARYmonitor on the PC to function like a primary monitor. There are a few things that I need for this to work.
1. System icons to appear in both monitors taskbar.
2. Programs to open on the screen that they are executed from.
3. Steam games to open and run on the secondary monitor.
I think that is all. Otherwise I may just have to get a second computer to do all this. It basically sounds like a second computer would solve all these issues.
I think you're correct that a second computer would be the way to go. DisplayFusion can force new windows to open on the second monitor, but full screen games will always open on the Primary monitor, and they're not moveable windows.
Same with Remote Desktop, it will always show the Primary monitor when you remote in from another machine.
