Hey, I've been a user of DisplayFusion for a little while now and one thing that always bugs me is the fact that any context menus I open towards the bottom of a window will appear underneath DisplayFusion task bars rather than over them, making part of the menu inaccessible. When I open the menu, it will momentarily appear to be above the task bar but then within a second go behind. I can only assume this is a bug.

At the time of posting, I'm using the latest v6.1.2 DisplayFusion and am on Windows 8.1.

That definitely shouldn't be happening. Could you send me a debug log? Here are the steps:
  • On the Troubleshooting tab, change the Logging drop-down to "Logging: Important Only"
  • Restart DisplayFusion
  • Reproduce the issue and note the time so we'll know where to check in the log file
  • Send us the DisplayFusion.log and DebugInfo.html files (can be found by clicking the Open Log button on the Troubleshooting tab)
  • Disable debug logging after sending the log

Thanks!

Thanks! Is it only Firefox context menus that have this problem, or can you reproduce it with other applications as well?

Yeah, there are only a few that will actually allow the menu to go over the task bar, but those that do the menu does go under. One other application includes XChat IRC client. The only exception i've found so far is the Mumble client.

Ok, I've been testing this out here with Firefox on Windows 8.1 with DisplayFusion 7.0 Beta 5, and I can't get it to occur. Could you try the latest DisplayFusion Beta (http://www.displayfusion.com/Download/Beta/) and if you can still reproduce it, let me know if there are any extra steps?

I've just maximized Firefox on the second monitor, and right-clicked near the bottom to get the context menu to overlap the DisplayFusion taskbar, and it stays above the taskbar.

Okay, so I tried the beta, still happened. I've also tried uninstalling startisback, uninstalling and re-installing DisplayFusion and it still happens. Though one thing I've noticed different now is when I open the menu on the very left monitor, every around 1.5 seconds it switches from being in-front of the task bar to behind it. But with right monitor is just stays behind the bar. Looks like that was a temporary bug. The menu just stays behind both bars again now.

Ok, I'll try testing this out again here to see what else I can find.

I've finally found the way to reproduce this issue :)

I had to make the monitor on the right the Primary monitor, and then try this on the left (secondary) monitor. I've added this to our list and we'll let you know when we're able to get it all fixed up!

Thanks!

This is the same setup that I have, and I can also see this issue. Note that I see it in Word 2013, Skype, etc., as well.
