We've made some performance improvements in the latest 3.3.1 Betas. Please install the latest beta from the link below and let me know if that helps at all.

As for the attached error message, it looks like you may be behind a web filter that's blocking access to the DisplayFusion update URL. You can turn off the automatic update checking on the Options tab of the DisplayFusion settings, you'll just need to check the website manually for new versions.
