ok i made a custom start button that is larger than the taskbar, this works fine on my default taskbar, but display fusion doesnt seem to want to use my custom button (or any of the classic shell buttons)

also for compatibility sake, on windows 8 you should add a way to hide display fusions taskbar (since there are other features of display fusion that someone may still want), and the windows taskbar is likely a little more responsive, compatible, and stable, not to mention perfectly identical to the other taskbar (no offense; its just one of the advantages of having an operating system built around something, rather than it being built around the operating system); the only feature i miss a little is the clock on my alternate taskbar
(you could always add an overlay for the clock, to windows default secondary taskbar)

EDIT: Also windows 8 users should get display fusion for atleast half off.. since your primary paid feature (the taskbar), is already incorperated

If you restart DisplayFusion or disable/re-enable the taskbar after updating the Start button in Classic Shell, it should use the new one you've selected.

You can disable the DisplayFusion taskbar on the Settings > Taskbar tab, and then re-enable the Windows 8 one if you wish :)

Thank you for your feedback regarding the discount. However, we still fill that our taskbar has added value over the Windows one for people who want to have the Notification Area, Clock, and Show Desktop button, along with other functions we've added regarding shortcuts to files, Functions in Jump Lists, etc.

that works with the default, and images smaller than the taskbar, but my button is larger than the taskbar, and display fusion is shrinking it now..

heres screenshot (i removed alpha channel temporarily from the start button to better show the problem)
and heres the start menu icon

@pricing; of-course it is your decision, and it does have a few features the windows start menu doesnt; im just saying that if i had windows 8's current taskbar when i originally purchased display fusion, i dont think i would have, because in my opinion the extra features are hardly worth 10$ let alone 25 (not that im asking for a refund, i got many good hours of use from it, when i had W7)

just one users input though :P

Ok, awesome, thanks! I don't think it's currently possible for us to put an over-sized Start button on the DisplayFusion taskbar, but I'll definitely add this to our list for further investigation.

Thanks!

DisplayFusion 5.0 Beta 9 (http://www.displayfusion.com/Download/Beta/) is now available, and there's a new Advanced Setting called "Taskbar: Start Button Scale," so that you can adjust the size of the Start button manually.

For the one that you attached here, a scale of about 1.25 seems to work pretty well :)

Note that you need to reload the taskbar after changing that setting. The easiest way is to just right-click it and navigate to Multi-Monitor Taskbar > Position > Automatic (or whatever setting it's already on).

Thanks!
