I'd like to add to this request, with a specific user story to match.

Using DisplayFusion on Win7 to update my desktop wallpapers from NASA's Astronomy Pictures of the Day, my desktop icon labels always revert back to black upon reboot, almost always atop a dark-colored astronomy picture.

I can get them to appear by going into settings, and manually adjusting the custom options, adding back in Drop Shadows every time I boot my computer.

I've tried batch files and registry hacks, but none of those seem to work.

This feature would help me see my icons no matter what the wallpaper changed to.

Alternatively: a feature to change desktop icon font color to contrast the predominant brightness of a desktop wallpaper would be just as good, and perhaps useful to even more DF users.

Thanks for reading!

I've split this off into a new topic, as the other topic was about window shadows, not desktop icon shadows :)

I've put your requests on our list. If we're able to implement them in a future version, we'll be sure to let you know.

Thanks!
