Hi Jon.

In your latest update of DisplayFusion (3.1.8), I came across what appears to be a bug with the image scaling feature in the Desktop Wallpaper window. When I change the scale from 105% to 110%, the image in the preview gets smaller (when it should get bigger). When I reduce the image scale from 110% to 105%, the image in the preview gets bigger (when it should appear smaller). Is this a bug, or is it just me?

I'm using Windows XP Pro 32-bit with SP3.

I continue to enjoy using DisplayFusion.

Sincerely, Rupertsland

I'm afraid I can't reproduce this bug, it works perfectly for me in Windows XP and Windows 7. Can you post screenshots showing the incorrect scaling @ 100%, 105% and 110%? Can you post more information that might be relevant as well? Thanks! :)

Hi Jon.

Attached are screenshots of the image scaling problem I encountered. The actual wallpaper image shown in the screenshot is 6144 x 4096 pixels. Rather large, but I wanted to see what it would look like. I tried other images (all JPEG's) and I got different results. For some images, there was no scaling problem. For others, the problem recurred at a different scaling percentage. One of those was a wallpaper image 2400 x 1800 pixels, and the scaling problem occurred at 120%.

If you compare screenshot images (2) and (4) below, you will see they look almost identical, and different from (3). Compare images (5) and (7) - both appear the same, but different from (6). In other words, (3) appears slightly more zoomed out when one increases the scaling, wherease (6) is slightly more zoomed in when one decreases the scaling.

I'm not sure how this didn't come up during testing, but I'm sorry for missing it. :( It turned out to be a rounding issue with the smaller values, and I've corrected the issue and done a re-pack. You can now re-download version 3.1.8 and the bug is gone:

Thanks for letting me know about this so quickly after the release! :)
