Ever since update 5.1 DF has been causing my focused window whether it be a borderless windowed game, a windowed game or any "windowed" game. I would like to have DF work with my windowed / borderless windowed games / programs so I can move across my screens without having to alt+tab or hot key DF to lock my mouse to one monitor.
I either did something to make the focus swap constantly or DF started hating my focus windows and doesn't want me to use them anymore. I've tried looking through the options to see if I changed anything even relating to it and I can't seem to find an option that works.
I also know its DF because whenever I close it / turn it off my mouse never leaves the focused window unless I alt+tab or something along those lines.
Also this is the steam's version if that has any meaning at all.
Any help would be appreciated.

Could you list a few of the games that this occurs with? I'd like to test it out here to see if I can reproduce the issue.
Thanks!

Personally I don't believe its limited to just games but of the ones I notice:
League of legends
Tera online
Dwarf Fortress (Noticeable only when using macros for controlling the mouse input and it leaves the screen)
Hmm now that I think about it minecraft doesn't seem to have this issue though.
And sorry about the late reply had projects due.

Elderscrolls III Morrowind has this issue for me.
I tested this out with League of Legends Borderless, and couldn't reproduce the issue. Could you attach a copy of the C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\DisplayFusion\DebugInfo.html file so that I can try setting up my test box with the same settings as yours?
Thanks!

Yep, thanks! I'll let you know as soon as I've had a chance to do some more testing.

Okay, I uninstalled DF then reinstalled via steam to 5.1.1 and the problem is still there. I made to sure to remove all but esstential programs, the only remaining programs were: Google chrome, steam, Razer synapse, skype and f.lux.
And I used league of legends to test with not chrome. Chrome is just on my other monitor.

It seems I was wrong in my assumption that DF was the cause of the losing focus. I have now confirmed it has started happening even with DF wasn't running. Which really leaves me to question why it stops when I close DF though. But sorry for wasting your time with this issue that seems to be my system or some other program which I can't identify. Also just to confirm it I did try switching back to 5.0.1 and it still was happening though now I know DF isn't the sole cause.

Ok, that is really strange indeed. Perhaps it is a conflict from another program, but occurs more frequently when DisplayFusion is running for some reason? Could be that the DisplayFusion hooks or something trigger the application to do whatever it's doing to make the programs lose focus.
If you figure out which program is the root cause, you can try adding a Compatibility rule in DisplayFusion for it, to disable the hooks and other features just for that program to see if it helps.
Hope that helps!

If it helps - I have had a similar issue, and it is caused by wireless watcher software, in my case the sierra 3G watcher, though I've heard that other similar devices/drivers have the same issue.

Yup, when I use it, doing simple things like searching for text in EditPlus ends up creating a focus war between dwm.exe, chrome.exe, and editplus.exe. Tons of cases like this. I spent 4 hours configuring the program only to realize that I can't stand it. The features are great, but if I'm constantly losing focus, it's going to cost me more time than all the time saved by all the great features.
And seeing the developer stumped about it? Bloatware. I guess I'm out. ActiveWindowManager is buggy. DisplayFusion is buggy. Seems nobody wants to write a window manager that actually works. They just want to keep adding features to get money.

Sorry to revive a dead thread. I have the same issue with constant lost of focus. I've been using DisplayFusion fine for over two years.
To get conclusive logging, is there a tool I can use to see which processes are fighting for Window focus?
I'm suspecting there's some process conflict/contention, but I don't know how to troubleshoot this. The only recent installation/upgrade was McAfee from Virus Scan to Endpoint Security.

This was due to old SaSSHMod.dll that lingered (bad uninstall) from VirusScan Enterprise. Uninstalled EndPoint Security, Re-installed old VSE... Then upgraded to EndPoint Security. There's only one SaSSHMod.dll copy now and everything working okay.
There seems to be a crash of McSACore.exe related to the SaSSHMod.dll
The lost of window focus is the Windows Error Reporting (WER) module running WerFault.exe and wemgr.exe repeated in the background.
The SaSSHMod.dll.log says the following repeatedly:

Event Viewer shows some version of this repeatedly as an error:
