After a period of uptime, and not necessarily very long, let's say a day or three, my system will all of a sudden close every app window I try to interact with, and tray icons that I try to pop up a context window for, etc.

Once this starts, I am unable to start any new programs - for example, attempting to start outlook will result in the outlook process starting (visible only in task list) and exiting a split second later. Only once I close DisplayFusion can I resume working again, though minus my second taskbar.

If I start displayfusion again, I might get a couple of application launches before it all goes wrong again - the only way to restore functionality is to reboot.

As DF itself isn't crashing I'm not sure how to collect useful data. I am running the latest stable DF and my system is up to date.

Anything else I can give you to help?

TIA

Phil

Can you try enabling the "Debug logging" setting on the Troubleshooting tab in the DisplayFusion Settings window? Let it run for a while, then send me the "DisplayFusion.log" file that it generates? Also, can you please make sure you are using the latest beta version as there are a number of important fixes in it:

Thanks!

Hi Jon

Thanks for the quick reply. I've installed the latest beta 12 and enabled debugging and we'll see what happens next.

Hi Phil, I'm just wondering if the issue has happened again, and if you have any logs that I can take a look at? :)

In an effort to cleanup the DisplayFusion forum, this topic is being locked and archived because it applies to an older version of DisplayFusion. If you are using the latest version of DisplayFusion and would still like some assistance, please create a new topic and I'll be happy to help you out. There are also beta versions available for testing the latest features and bug fixes:
