Well, as the title says, Display Fusion crashes when I come or go out of Fullscreen/Aero. I had this problem when I had DF 3.something, and I thought that updating to DF 5.0.1 would fix it. It did not. I tried looking for an answer, but I never found one.

I'm currently using DF 5.0.1 Free, on Vista SP 2.

Edit: I'm now using DF 5.0.1 for Steam (Thanks Summer Sale) And it still does the same.

Could you try updating to DisplayFusion 5.1 Beta 13 from the link below? You can install it without affecting your Steam license.

We've fixed some hook issues in Beta 13, so it will hopefully fix your crashing issue as well.

Thanks!

Looks like its working. But when I installed the beta, even if I told it to use my current key (Steam Key), it didn't give me the pro version. I'll try to manually put it.

Edit: It was just because I did not install it in the same folder, but now it work completely fine.

Seems like I did not look into it as much as I should have, since again today, it crashed another time after launching a program that switch me off of Aero.

Bummer! I wasn't able to reproduce this in Vista. Does it happen every time, or only occassionally? Would you also be able to do the following to help troubleshoot further?
  • Enable debug logging on the Troubleshooting tab (set it to Logging: Important Only) and click Apply
  • Restart DisplayFusion
  • Reproduce the issue (please note the time so I'll know where to look in the log file)
  • Attach the %appdata%\DisplayFusion\DisplayFusion.log file to this topic (can be found by clicking the 'Open Log' button on the Troubleshooting tab)
  • Disable debug logging after sending me the log

It doesn't happen all the time, but most of it. This time I had to switch Aero 3 times before it happened (started the program that switch Aero off, closed it, started it again). Then it crashed. Here's the log file that you asked for.

Edit: I forgot to take the time. Let me make a new log.

Just a quick update on this. We think we may have found the issue, so it will hopefully be all fixed up in Beta 14. I'll keep you posted when it's available to test out.

Thanks!

We've released DisplayFusion 5.1 Beta 16 (http://www.displayfusion.com/Download/Beta/), and this issue should hopefully be all fixed up :)

Please let me know if not.

Thanks!
