Hi Keith and Jon,
I am using newly released CSM beta 4 (3.9) that has fixes for W8.1 start button overlay problems. However DF does not load the custom start button for CSM. This occurred in previous version of 3.9 also though. I am running most recent beta of DF.

It appears that the Classic Shell beta is a private beta. I've PM'd Ivo to see if I can get in on the beta program so that I can test it out with DF :)

Thanks!

Got the beta and reproduced this issue. We'll hopefully have it fixed up for the next DF beta :)

We've just posted DisplayFusion 5.1 Beta 10 (http://www.displayfusion.com/Download/Beta/), and this should be all fixed up.

Thanks!

Keith,
In Windows 8.0. I updated to b10. CSM was at 3.6.8 with a custom start button. DF reopened with everything correct. Unloaded DF and upgraded to CSM4 newest version. Set all its setting including custom button. Next reopened DF. DF decided to use CSM default start button on secondary taskbar the correct custom button was on main taskbar. I had to go to DF settings > taskbars and OK for DF to show correct button. It does the same if you change a CSM button, you have to go to DF settings > taskbars to get it to honor it.

I will let you know about 8.1 tomorrow.
Regards,
Pete

Ok, weird! After DisplayFusion has correctly picked up the custom button, if you restart DF again, does it change back to the default Classic Shell button again?

DF then sticks with correct button. However, if I then choose another button in CSM, I have to do the same procedure for DF to pick the new one up. I will do more tests later.
On a machine with 8.1 and CSM 4 with custom button, upgraded to DF b10 all O.K. Then in CMS change to Aero button, DF stays with custom button; I have to restart DF or go to the settings > taskbar > OK in DF for it to pick up the change.
This is basically what was happening in 8.0. Shouldn't DF just pick up the change and reflect it?

As far as I know, CSM doesn't send any sort of message when the Start button is changed, so DisplayFusion doesn't know that it needs to reload the Start button image. A manual reload of the DF taskbar is necessary and expected to update the button, but it's strange that it loaded the default button on startup the first time. Are you able to reproduce that again?
