DF Titlebar buttons on Thunderbird: adjusting with compatibility-settings not working

I found that the titlbar-buttons do overlap with Thunderbird's own buttons, so I wanted to move them, but I found that no matter what I enter in the Compatibility-Settings, they keep the same position. (sees screenshot. Background window is TB)

Did you click OK on the Compatibility rule, and Apply on the main Settings window after changing the values?

Yes, I even restarted DF.

Oh! In the rule you've specified the offset for the non-maximized windows, but the offset for maximized windows is still set to 0. Try setting that one as well.

Oh - so that's what the second pair of offsets was intended for. The german translation had confused me - it speaks of a "maximized offset" and it wasn't clear that this referred to maximized windows...
Adjusting that did it, however :-)
