The new taskbar clock is a neat enhancement to DisplayFusion.

1. Would be nice to have an option to display seconds. This would eliminate having a clock gadget installed that does display seconds. :-)

2. Name of day ?

I designed the DisplayFusion clock to mimic the Windows clock, which should display the name of day if there is enough room. If the DF clock looks different than the Windows clock, can you post a screenshot of your desktop? Thanks!

Jon,
Clock doesn't display if TaskBar set to autohide. If this is by design I think it is wrong choice as the standard clock work with autohide.
Secondly I think you need to add the ability to set its settings within the main dialog somehow.

@Pete: The auto-hide thing is a bug, and has been fixed for Beta 2. As for the clock setting, I'm going to add an advanced setting to override the default style. :)

No day of the week is display with the taskbar size set at automatic. This is on Windows 7 x64 Professional and Windows 7 x86 Professional.

Update: If the Taskbar is on the bottom at automatic size, the day does show. It's the vertical taskbar that is the problem.

I've been waiting YEARS for this! (at least it seems like it)

Just grabbed the beta and let me say you've made a grown man weep. Thanks for the taskbar clock Jon!

Jon,
Looking better.
One comment - setup 2 identical monitors - Windows TB on left DF TB on right - when you have the clock alligned left and then hover, the text is displayed on the left monitor; not the monitor with the taskbar.

Jon you might want to test with multiple monitors\DF TB's and either left\right alignment of clock.

Beta 2 resolves the issue of no day on a vertical taskbar. Thanks much! :-)

What about adding some options to DF taskbar's clocks?

1. Option to disable it :)
2. Option to set custom date format. For example, dd.mm.yy, dddd, hh:nn shows 24.07.10, saturday, 13:11;
3. Option to show tooltip (balloon) with its own font size and date format.

I have date formats set as: Short date: dddd M/d/yyyy Long Date: dddd MMMM dd, yyyy
In the Windows clock, the day and month are separated by a space. On the DF clock, the separator is a forward slash.
Also, the DF clock space doesn't change width to accommodate the longer string. Doesn't matter whether the clock is left or right.
Minor gripe - love that the clock is there. DF continues to evolve into an awsome utility.

You can disable the clock by right-clicking the taskbar and selecting "Taskbar > Clock > Disable". To change the text that shows on the clock, just use the Advanced Setting called "Taskbar: Clock Text":

Thanks!

Can you provide an example of what the value of TaskbarsClockText would be for the clock display below.

Since clock panel doesn't changes it's width, based on it's content, what about adding advanced setting to set it up manually?

For sure.
Template, which I use in TClockLite utility for Windows taskbar is "dd.mm.yy, dddd, hh:nn". As you can see, it need a little bit more space rather than default space.

1.png from attachment show region from Windows taskbar with TClockLite enabled on the left and DF tray with equally template (via registry).

I would also like to put in a vote for one of two options:

1. I would prefer that the clock's width be set to auto-size for whatever we enter into the TaskbarsClockText registry key. If that is not a good idea, I would be happy with...
2. The ability to explicitly set a width for the clock.

Here's what my screen looks like when I try to use the following Clock text: hh:mm:ss tt\ndddd MMM dd, yyyy

Just installed Beta 8 and the "TaskbarClockSize2" setting works perfectly. Just what we needed.
Thanks!

A little issue: could DF read system locale settings on start and if 24-hour was set up, DF shows 19:26 instead of 7:26?

Excuse me. A month after posting a locale settings issue on time display I looked into this topic and found that it completed.
So, no 24-hour time settings in near future?
