This applies to Windows 7 SP1 x64 and x86 Professional starting with DF V4.0.1.Beta3.

When performing full system scans with security programs Malwarebytes Anti Malware and TrojanHunter, the program icon in the DF taskbar briefly (1-2 seconds) and randomly disappears and then returns. It is very random as to when the icon will disappear. I have not been able to reliably make it happen at specific points in the full system scan. It occurs 6-10 times during the full system scans that take 20-45 minutes. I have also noticed the icon disappear from the DF taskbar, briefly appear in the Windows taskbar, and then jump back to the DF taskbar.

The attached video shows it occurring as TrojanHunter scans ports and then memory. (TH icon on lower left in DF taskbar.)

I've noticed this as well, with both Firefox 12, and Visual Studio 2010.

Thanks for the video and the log! I was also able to reproduce the issue using Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. We'll look into it and see what we can find out.

Thanks!

We've just released DisplayFusion 4.0.1 Beta 5 (http://www.displayfusion.com/Download/Beta/), and this issue should hopefully be all fixed up. Could you give it a try and let me know how it works out?

Thanks!

It is still occurring on both TrojanHunter and MBAM. It happens on MBAM at the beginning of the full scan when it is scanning registry keys; it happens on TrojanHunter when it is scanning pgms running in RAM, open ports, registry, and programs that are autostarted.

Initially after updating to B5, the MalwareBytes icon was still getting removed/re-added during the scan, but after rebooting my machine, it seems to be fine in B5. If you haven't already, could you try rebooting your machine and let me know if the issue still occurs?

Edit: Just as I said that, I was able to reproduce it in B5, so don't worry about trying a reboot :)

Ok, we're hopeful that we've found and fixed the issue for beta 6. I can't get it to occur any more, so I'll let you know as soon as B6 is available to try out.

Thanks!

This appears to be fixed with Beta 6. Thanks very much for your effort on this issue. :)
