Hi...
I have an HP EliteBook 840G3 with 16GB Ram i5 processor and I'm having an issue with Display Fusion changing my theme back to Windows Basic from my standard Aero theme... please help...
I'm running the latest version and am now a little lost how to stop this..

Thanks Craig! I don't see anything out of the ordinary in the troubleshooting info. DisplayFusion doesn't have any features that would intentionally change the Aero theme, so I'm not sure what might be happening here.
When does it seem to change? Is it right after DisplayFusion starts up? Or only after a certain amount of time?
Are you using Windows 7 or 10?
Here is a couple of fixes you can try:
This issue can be caused by the graphic card memory is not enough or the graphic card driver is not up to date, try updating your graphics driver.
Failing that then:
Click on Start button and click on Control Panel.(Or type Control Panel in the Search Box if your system is Win10.
Click on System, click Advanced System Settings.
On the System Properties window, choose the Advanced tab.
Click on Settings button under Performance.
Now change the option from "Let Windows do what's best for my computer" to "Adjust for best appearance".
Click on Apply and OK.

Hey again..
I'm running 64-bit Windows 7 Pro...
It seems to do it most after a sleep or after I close the lid and the screen turns off....
This is a work machine and I generally have it docked using the laptop screen and 2 x 24" ASUS monitors, it does not normally change the theme after undocking, but it does seem to change the resolution to 800x600... not sure if this is releated...
Ok, thanks! If you exit DisplayFusion before letting the computer sleep, does that make any difference?

Yes, I have disabled Display Fusion and it does not change... I've even tried changing the performance options with DF running and this makes no difference.

Keith, sorry I think either you misred it or it's my writing...lol
If I disable DisplayFusion the theme stays on windows Aero and never reverts back to basic like it does with DisplayFusion running.... does that make more sense ??

Hey, sorry for the delayed response...
I have attached a log from this morning...
So I had my laptop running for around 2 hours and then undocked it from my docking station with 2 x 24" ASUS monitors connected via Display Port leads off the docking station...
When I undocked it the resolution changed from 1920x1080 to something like 900x600... I then closed the lid on the laptop to shut the screen off and then opened it after a few seconds, once the screen woke up the Windows Basic theme was active and I had lost my Windows Aero theme...
Not sure what is going on here ??

After DisplayFusion has been running for a few hours, can you check the Windows Task Manager to see what the memory usage is at for DisplayFusion.exe?

Hey,
Task Manager screen shot after 2.5 hours of the laptop docked and running...
If you need more please let me know.

Thanks, that looks normal too. The next time it reverts to the basic theme, could you check the Windows Event Viewer > System logs to see if there are any errors there? Particularly anything related to the video card drivers?
