Display Fusion is great, and to be honest, I couldn't do without it. But it is increasingly getting filled with functions I don't need, whilst the one thing I do need (and have requested twice) never seems to get in there... that being the ability to specify a fixed orientation for images, i.e. one that matches the actual orientation of the monitor. Portrait images on a landscape monitor are a pain, because they don't conform to the aspect ratio scaling the same as landscape images... but I digress.
Would it be possible to split off the wallpaper changing functionality into a Lite version of the programme, for people like myself, who just want to change wallpapers, and nothing more? At the moment, it feels like using a 200 piece toolkit, just to put a screw in the wall. I know there's a free version, but all that does is make a lot of the functions unavailable, it's still the same package.
It's probably beyond possible at this point, but if you don't ask... you never know.
Thanks for the feedback! The other wallpaper request is still open on our list, but no ETA on it at the moment.
It's not really possible at the moment to split the wallpaper code into it's own product without spending weeks on it, but we'll still take it into consideration for the future. Are you running into any trouble with disabling the other un-needed features on your system?

The problem is, I write software, and the last thing I need, is an external programme trying to hook into software I am debugging. So when I am deciding what minimise/maximise etc... controls to display, I don't want an external programme trying to add its own icons or software hooks onto my forms. So when I reinstall the OS, like I did recently, I have to remember to plough through all the irrelevant settings, to turn them off. But then when you release an update, I have to do it all again, because I don't know what other features have been added, that I don't want running. It was actually an update to 6.0 notification that prompted this request. It adds nothing useful for me, and even though it might fix something behind the scenes, it is easier to just ignore it.
Maybe I'm a minority user, because I have a specific development environment that has to be set out a certain way. I programme and do my own artwork, which requires things to be set up just right for both tasks. I know stripping down software can be a real pain, but I just thought it was worth posing the question.

Sorry to raise a dead issue, but would love to continue using DF. Work at a large law firm and have historically fought (and won) for the right to use DF for my 4-monitor setup, but with each new version of DF, it increases its thrashing of my system's resources. I have finally lost the battle to keep DF (and frankly my computer works better than ever -- of course it's not as good for the multi-monitor control).
I use only a few of the core functions (wallpaper, Window position hotkeys and general monitor setup). Is there any plan to push out a "Lite" or "Very Lite" version? If not, I'll never be able to get it through our IT evaluation process again.
Thanks for some great software!

We don't have any immediate plans to add a lite version, but we do have it on our feature request list so I've added your vote to it as well.
Thanks for the kind words and support!
