I was recently trying to update KMPlayer 64X while display fusion was running. The installer threw an error stating that C:\\Programs\KMPlayer 64X\VSFilter.dll could not be updated.
I then downloaded one of many file-lock managers and determined that DisplayFusion.exe had a lock over the file. Once I kill it, the installation continued without any issues.
What's going on here?
Hello,
Strange, if you head into the compatibility tab in DisplayFusion, add in the application, and check off "Disable Application Hooks", does the issue persist?
Thanks!

I just had the same problem. Had to use Process Explorer to find out which program was using KMPlayer's VSFilter.dll and it was DisplayFusion.

If you disable application hooks for this app, does the issue persist?
Thanks!

It seems that there isn't the answer that I was searching for.
Though it seems to be for VobSub and TextSub, I'm not sure why displayfusion locks the file VSFilter.dll or why this file uses displayfusion for some reason, thus I'd like to know why.

Are you playing any audio or videos with DisplayFusion?
I had an update for KMPlayer today and it seemed to update fine without locking any files. We have some changes coming in our next beta that might fix this up though, we'll let you know once it's released to test out.
Thanks!
