Heyo, I would like to point out that when I activate DisplayFusion it causes Razer Synapse not listeded in the taskbar.

Which you can see on the attached file, Razer Synapse is running on the background on the right but it dont have green bar to show the program is running. Just for control variable I let some programs running as well (Explorer, Adobe Reader (pdf), and Telegram -- which has green bar next to them). This taskbar is on DisplayFusion Multi-Monitor Taskbar, but the Windows' Taskbar also behave the same way. The only way to remove this behavior is by terminate DisplayFusion.

Also, I want to point out that Razer Synapse also marked as invinsible for in Alt+Tab when I'm using DisplayFusion Alt+Tab. Therefore if I disable the Alt+Tab function, Razer Synapse will be listed.

By those two behavior, I feel there is interference between those programs. Hmm let me know if you need more info.

I'm using Win 10 build 1903.

I can't get Razer Synapse to open at all here, but I don't have any Razer devices, so maybe it won't work.

Could you do the following to send me some more information about the Razer window?
  • Install one of our other apps, Window Inspector: https://www.binaryfortress.com/windowinspector (it's free)
  • Open the Razer window
  • Open Window Inspector
  • Hover over the affected window with your mouse so that the affected window's info shows in the Window Inspector window
  • Press Ctrl + Shift + F1 to freeze the timer in Window Inspector
  • Press Ctrl + Shift + F2 to save the info from Window Inspector to a file
  • Send me the file from the previous step

Thanks!

Okay, here they are. Since they behave differently, I made 2 version with / without DF :)

Let me know if you need more help.

Thanks! Is one launched from the Windows taskbar, and the other launched from a shortcut on the DF taskbar?

The normal one is I launched it from Windows Taskbar with DisplayFusion enabled.
The other one is I launched it from Windows Taskbar without DisplayFusion enabled (I close it from system tray).

Since it turn into invisible when I enable DisplayFusion, so I'm gave you two version in case it changes :)

Yep, thanks! Could you send me a debug log for this?

  • On the DisplayFusion Settings > Troubleshooting tab, change the Logging drop-down to "L1: Log Minimal" and click Apply
  • Open the Razer app
  • After the taskbar button disappears, move on to the next step
  • Click the "Export Info to File" button on the Settings > Troubleshooting tab
  • Reply with the file attached
  • Disable debug logging after sending the log

Thanks! I'll pass this info over to our devs and see if they can spot anything obvious here. We don't have any Razer devices here so we can't repro the issue :(

Ok, would you be able to do the debug logging steps from post #8 above, but set it to L2 instead of L1 logging?

Make sure to disable logging after sending us the logs, L2 will affect performance.

Thanks!

Just a quick update. We're going to try and get our hands on a Razer device for testing so that we can debug this further here. We'll be sure to let you know when we're able to make some progress on it.

Thanks!

Ok, I've gotten a hold of a Razer mouse. It installed Razer Synapse 3.4 automatically, and that seems to be working correctly for me. I tried uninstalling and installing Razer Synapse 2.0, but the window never opens for me, regardless of whether or not DisplayFusion is running.

Can you double-check your Razer Synapse version and update to 3.4 if possible?

Hmmmm.. I have old Razer device and it looks like it didn't detected in newer version of Razer Synapsse v.3.

So I guess I stuck with legacy version of Razer Synapse 2.0 for my device.

Ok, we might be out of luck here then :(

It looks like newer Razer accounts don't work with Razer Synapse 2.0, so it won't open here and we can't debug it :(

If I can get 2.0 to open here, we'll definitely have a look and try to fix it up. In the meantime, if you roll back to an older version of DisplayFusion, does the icon show up on the taskbar correctly?

DisplayFusion 9.2.4
DisplayFusion 9.3
DisplayFusion 9.4.3
