Everytime I restart my computer I have to struggle to get Display Fusion to start. I need to rightclick on my desktop and the progrma is visible in the menu and then I need to choose settings and hopefully the program starts.
It is clear that it is loaded in the system but it does not appear, Even if I try to run it as an admin it does not start, it takes me several tries and eventually it starts. This thing is making me nuts. I have had it for so many years and suddenly it starts to behave like this. I really hope some of you here can give me a hint on what is going on.
Hello,
Do you see DisplayFusion running in your system tray after you start up your computer?
Thanks!

Hello
No it´s not in the system tray!
If I start services I can see that it is started with delay and I have marked the exe file to start with administrator rights.
And if I rightclick on desktop it´s in the menu and usually I choose settings from there to get it going.
Hello,
If you have DisplayFusion.exe set to run as administrator, Windows won't start it automatically on boot, so let's make sure that's unchecked.
Can you then restart your computer, and open up "Task Manager > Details" right away and see if DisplayFusion.exe shows up in the list briefly before disappearing?
Also of note, DisplayFusionService.exe and DisplayFusion.exe are two different services. We only need to focus on getting DisplayFusion.exe to start on boot.
Let me know how that works!
Hello,
Could you send over a process log? Here are the steps:
1) Download Process Monitor: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/procmon
2) Launch it, head into the Options tab, and enable "Boot Logging". Make sure to check off "Generate thread polling events" and then click ok
3) Reboot your computer, and wait for DisplayFusion to crash
4) Open up Process Monitor, it should ask you if you want you save the collected data from the boot. Click yes, and send us over the file.
Thanks!

When I do like you advised I end up with 10 logfiles and they are in total over 3Gb. It´s not possible to send them here.

This morning I switched on my computer and left it there for about 10 minutes. When I eventually logged in , the program was working. Don´t know if it was a random thing but I will try it some more.

I have tried a couple of times now and can confirm that if I wait to login for a few minutes it actually works. Now I need to try to figure out why and how to fix it.

I think I solved it! The displayfusion service was put as delayed start and when I change it to automatic without delay it worked. The thing is that I never changed that value. The program has worked excellent for years and all of a sudden started to not start at boot up. Well , I will never stop to be surprised when it comes to computers.
Will test for a couple of days and see if it´s really solved.
Hello,

I as experience this once in a while. I cannot have tools slow down my productivity. DisplayFusion is a very important tool, so please see to it that this is not ignored by Dev.
I waited a long time, and eventually terminated the DisplayFusion.exe. This left behind the DisplayFusionService, and the DisplayFusionHookApp32 and 64. When I restarted the DisplayFusion.exe, it hung for a while, then I saw the two HookApp disappear, then reappear, and it was at that moment all the toolbars and operations came to life.
Thus, I think there might be something with the detection or relation of the two HookApp during the start process.
I will try the Autostart (vs Autostart Delay) to see if it helps.
