Hi,

I recently bought and installed Display Fusion in attempt to manage my some what complex monitor setup. I have to say that Display Fusion is extremely good and is worth the expense if you run complex monitor setups.

The only issue i have is to do with the DK2 .. which is always turned on and in extended mode running runtime 0.6.0.1

If i create a monitor profile that disables the DK2 .. then the orientation of the DK2 returns to its default vertical (portrait) mode even though it was by default (in windows settings) in a landscape mode.

If i then switch to another stored display profile that enables the DK2 it remains in a portrait mode even though the profile has the DK2 set to landscape, so i have to go into monitor configuration and manually set the DK2 back to landscape even though this was the stored setting for the DK2. No amount of saving/editing a DF monitor profile with the DK2 will resolve this. I always have to go in to Monitor Configuration and rotate the DK2 ?

Strangely most times i have manually set the DK2 to landscape (flipped) after switching DF profiles ?

I know the DK2 is somewhat strange in that its a portrait (phone) screen being used in a landscape mode ...bBut it would be great if you could fix this issue ...

Cheers
Jay

This issue is definitely related to the fact that the DK2 is a bit strange with the orientation values. We've currently got this on our list to fix up, and we'll be sure to let you know when we think we've gotten it all sorted out.

Thanks!

Awesome ...

Good to know your on it .... i can image a lot of people with HMD's will end up using Display Fusion as right now its the best solution for managing multi-monitor setups with VR head sets ... so getting this sorted should set you up for a good following once the consumer units start hitting homes in a few weeks ...

For now i have a custom DF Monitor Profile that disables my 21:9 monitor, enables the DK2 as primary and sets my other monitors to a lower resolution @ 75hz ... even though the DK2 monitor profile has the DK2 at the correct orientation (when saved) ... if the DK2 is switched to disabled then it always returns to portrait mode ... when re-enabled by DF it stays in the portrait mode ..

So after DF has applied the DK2 profile I then go back to DF Monitor Configuration and manuall set the orientation of the DK2 to Landscape(flipped)

Its not a deal breaker but a shame DF doesn't work as it should ( i realise this is down to the DK2's strange monitor configuration) however a way to work around the issue would be the ability to create a custom function to ROTATE Display X to Orientation Y (0-3) .... this could then be mapped to a custom key combo which in turn can also be triggered from the command line ...

We could then automate the process using a .bat or script file to first send a UseMonitorProfile XXX command (in this case DK2) and then a rotate Display command .... in this case Set DK2 to Landscape (Flipped)

Not elegant i know but it would allow HMD (or other non-standard displays) users to work around the issue for now until you have a full/final solution that can be incorporated in to the DF main build .... bearing mind that i think HMD api's & runtimes are going to develop and change a fair but over the next six months .... this might be a good solution for now ....

Simply put could you add RotateDisplay X to Y as a custom function to DF ?.

Cheers

It's likely that scripted functions for setting the orientation also wouldn't work correctly, as they would use the same functions in the code that the Monitor Profiles use. However, we're getting a production Rift next week hopefully. We'll test this out when it shows up, and if it's still an issue, we should be able to get it fixed up :)
