Could you attach a copy of your troubleshooting info, and a backup of your settings?

To backup the settings, use the Export button on the Settings > Options tab.

To send the troubleshooting info:
  • Open the Settings > Troubleshooting tab
  • Click the "Copy to Clipboard" button
  • Paste the text into a text file (please don't paste the text directly into your reply, the formatting gets garbled and makes it difficult to parse)
  • Reply with the file attached

Also, were you on 9.0 Beta 4 or 8.1.2 before you updated to Beta 5?

I was on 9.0 Beta 4.
BTW, the last bug I posted, I think, is because I enabled the Fading new feature...

If you disable Monitor Fading and restart DisplayFusion, does it still leak memory?

Thanks! We actually have found the issue. Both the memory leak and the taskbar issue are caused by a bug in Monitor Fading. We should have it fixed up for the next version :)

Did this fix make it into the final 9.0 release?

I'm seeing some strangeness on the Monitor Fading settings screen... it does not remember that it is enabled. Does the checkbox for "enable monitor fading" indicate whether it is engaged or not?

Did this effect Win7 too?

@Steve: The memory leak should be resolved. The checkbox should indicate whether or not it's enabled, but it won't update its status if you press the hotkey while the Settings window is open.

@Thinkpad4: The memory leak with the Monitor Fading feature affected all versions of Windows, but was fixed up for the 9.0 release.

Sadly, the memory leak is still appearing on W10!

Some minutes ago, I need to quit DF9, because it consumed 8GB of memory! :-P

What do you need from me? Logs, Screenshot....?

Kind regards,
Sebastian

We actually found another memory leak and have fixed it up in the latest 9.1 Beta version. Could you try updating and let us know if you still run into any trouble?

Thanks!

Hey again,

in the last several days I had no further problems.
So all works fine! :)

And today I received the official update with the fix.

Thanks a lot and kind regards,
Sebastian
