I have to say, I'm really liking this Beta forum. I feel much more connected with everyone who is helping to test, and it's easier for me to keep you updated without filling up your inbox. I have settled on http://www.lindersoft.com as the new installer software that DisplayFusion will use. It's not cheap, but here is the breakdown that helped me decide:
Pros:
- Full Unicode support - that means I can finally add Russian and Chinese to the installer (later)
- Downloads and installs missing pre-requisites after prompting the user (.NET Framework 2.0, for example)
Cons:
- Expensive
- Doesn't currently have Russian translations for the installer
I think these pros far outweigh the cons, so Beta 14 should be out before the end of the week using the new installer. I will be removing Russian from the installation languages, but the "ru.lang" file will still be installed with DisplayFusion. That means that while you can't install DisplayFusion in Russian (yet) you can still use it in Russian.
