Can display fusion create a virtual display within a display and allow the user to specify the exact resolution?
I need to do two things
1) Take a 1920x1080 display and make it only take up about 80% of the display. Maybe 1536 x 1080 and 384 x 1080.
2) I need to have a program running full screen in the larger portion and then have the smaller portion off to the side visible still (as if it was a second display) and have it showing things like windows gadgets.
The display will be playing a slide show in full screen mode. The show will contain information of various houses for sale in the area. The smaller portion will display things like the time, calendar or weather. This is what my client wants to do.
I use display fusion on my home pc but I can only divide the screen in halves. Also, when I full screen a program within a virtual display, it still takes up the entire display rather than just the dedicated portion that it is in. Thank you.
It may not be possible to confine the full screen slideshow into a split, depending on how it renders the full screen window. What application are you using for the slideshow?

I currently want to use XBMC for the slideshow but im open to suggestions. XBMC allows me to remove and add pictures while the slideshow is going. This will be done using dropbox. The client will be able to add new pictures (house listing information) and remove old ones without the slideshow needing to be stopped and restarted. This way it can be done remotely while the show is still playing at the office.
First id like to be able to get the screen actually split into the sizes I need before I worry about the full screen issue.
edit: I have AMD Gpus on my current machine, and I have an nvidia gpu available along with intel ivy bridge graphics. The machine that I will be building to actually do all this will have a sandy bridge gpu. Its one of those all in one low power boards that has a cpu/gpu built in. Not sure if gpu/driver choice is the problem.

Ok, no worries! We'll let you know when we're able to implement asymmetrical splits, and we'll go from there.
