Hello,
I have a two monitor setup. I have been using DF in windows seven for several years now and I cannot remember ever having this partyicular issue: I recently downloaded DF to a new Windows ten system. When I drag a tab from the Firefox tabs bar from monitor one and try to drop it and open it on monitor two the tab/page opens for a split second on monitor two and then jumps back to monitor one in a new window. I then have to click the "Move Windows to Next Monitor: button at the top of monitor one to get the page to move to monitor two. Is there a fix for this? Thank you.

Just to confirm the issue, you drag a tab from Firefox to separate it into it's own window. Then move that tab window to monitor #2 and release it and it snaps back to monitor #1?

We haven't been able to reproduce the issue here yet, would you be able to record a video of the issue happening so we can see exactly what's going on? Thanks!

I apologize for taking so long to respond. This is not a very good video but I believe it shows the issue. In the video I am grabbing a web page from monitor #1 and dragging and dropping it onto monitor #2. As you can see after dropping the web page into monitor #2 it immediately snaps back to monitor #1. Thank you for your time.

No worries at all, thanks for sending the video! Could you send me a copy of your troubleshooting info? Here are the steps:

  • Open the Settings > Troubleshooting tab
  • Click the "Export Info to File" button
  • Reply with the file attached

I understood your instruction but could not follow them to the T. I have no Troubleshoot tab in Settings. I did find a Troubleshoot tab in the left hand column of Update and Security but could not get anywhere there. I found Diagnostics and Feedback button in Privacy and was able run, view and copy a Software Setup and Inventory. I do not know if that will work for you. Just an FYI had this same issue last year 6/6/19 and started a email support case. You are the one who responded. You gave me a simple fix and sent it to me the Via email message. I tried to find it on this website but there was no record of it in the conversation or my account page. I know I saved the message but I just cannot find it. Here is the link to that conversation: https://www.displayfusion.com/Discussions/View/tab-movenent/?ID=16c3e223-c95c-46f6-a713-8025d30e740a
Let me know how you would like to proceed. Thank you for you time and effort.

Sorry, that should be the Troubleshooting tab in the DisplayFusion Settings window :)

No worries, thanks! It looks like you've got a Trigger rule that moves all new Firefox windows to the left monitor. When you drag the tab out, it creates a new window and then the DisplayFusion Trigger sees it and moves it to the left monitor.

If you only want the first Firefox window you open to move to the left monitor, you can change the "Frequency" drop-down in the Trigger rule to "Once-per-process name."

Hope that helps!
