Hi,
I have the following setup: Two Screens, connected via DVI and a TV, connected via HDMI. Now, I would like to create two monitor profiles: One Dual Screen-Profile, with both monitors enabled, and one TV-Profile with just the TV. I can setup these profiles just fine, but when I try to enable the TV-Profile I get the following error:
An error has occurred while applying your new Monitor configuration.
Please check your settings and try again.
Error: Failed to call EnableMonitors.
Enabling the TV in the NVIDIA Settings App works. But, since my graphics card only supports two screens at the same time, I need to deactivate at least one of the others. However, DisplayFusion seems unable to do that. Is there a fix underway or am I doing something wrong?
@Mods: I've attached the output from the Troubleshooting page.
Cheers,
cbe.

Hi,
I've got the same issue, however when I can't even enable the TV (after disconnecting one of the two monitors) to set up the profile without getting the error. My setup is pretty much the same as cbe. I sent a bug report before finding this thread so apologies for the duplication.
Thanks in advance for the help and the otherwise awesome software!
M.
Just a quick update on this, we weren't able to fix it for the final release of 4.0, but we're going to keep working on it for 4.0.1. I'll be sure to post any updates that I have along the way.
@M: I'll keep corresponding with you via email, and I'll post an update here when we're able to get your issue sorted out as well.
Thanks!

I am attempting to do the exact same thing, and even submitted a report about the error. My report looks almost identical to the first post on this page lol!
same problem, also a bug report >< apparently i'm not the first!
Glad to hear that its being worked on at the moment, I can't wait for this bug to be fixed.
@Peter: Got your email, and I've added your info to our list. I'll be sure to post an update when we have a fix.
Thanks!

I installed the program for only this feature. So shouldn't i buy it because it's not working?
@Alexander: Are you having the same error message as the other folks? If so, are you able to enable the monitor through the Windows Screen Resolution settings?

Hey guys,
I too have a similar setup on my PC.
1080i TV = HDMI
19" ASUS = VGA
19" ASUS = DVI
I was playing around with the profiles and found out some interesting information. While playing with my Nvidia 9800GT I was disappointed to learn that it CAN NOT support 3 displays at the same time (even though it has 3 outputs for video) Only 2 can be active at the same time.
So with that said, here's what I found that's interesting:
It appears that the profile manager is trying to turn on other monitors BEFORE it turns off the current monitors. Thus exceeding the limits of the GPU and in turn, causing the error. When I use nVidia's control panel, I always have to disable the unwanted monitor first THEN enable the other monitor that I wanted to use or it will generate an error.
Hope this helps fix this issue, I bought this software for the sole purpose of having the ability of using pre-configured profiles for my displays. I'm still stuck switching monitors with nVidia's control panel (they don't have the ability to save monitor profiles at all!) So, this issue is distressing to say the least!
@Clay: Thanks for the extra info, it's helpful to know that the same issue exists in the nVidia Control Panel. I've actually got an nVidia card with three outputs, but only two can be enabled at a time, so I'm going to do some testing with both the DF Monitor Configuration feature, as well as the nVidia Control Panel to see what we can find out.

With the newest Version (4.1.0 Beta 5), everything is now working as expected, although I had to search a bit for the option to disable the confirmation dialog from popping up every time. Might be good to put a checkbox for that on the monitor configuration.
Thanks for the fix!
Excellent, glad to hear it!

Tried it myself in Beta 8, works great! No problems. I do however agree with cbe, I'd like there to be an option for it not to have the timed dialog.
@Peter: There actually is an option, but it's tucked away in the Advanced Settings. Just change the "Monitor Configuration: Don't Show Confirm Prompt" option in the Advanced Settings to "Confirmation prompts are not shown."
Thanks!

I have another problem: I have a laptop and also a TV monitor, with the same resolutions. I try to make the following profiles:
1. Only the laptop screen is active
2. Only the monitor is active
3. The laptop screen is extended to the monitor
4. The laptop screen is extended to the monitor but the monitor is set primary
Among these options only the 1st and 3rd works:
2nd: when I try to disable the laptop screen, I try to disconnect the monitor (because I can't set my monitor primary first due to the problem described below) and then try to extend it again, then again I got only my laptop screen active (even though thr DisplayFusion shows that I have the 2nd monitor enabled and set primary :S).
4th: when I try to set the monitor primary, the software actually sets the monitor inactive and enables only my laptop.
Sorry if it seems confusing but I don't know what to do. If you have questions regarding and devices of mine, feel free to ask.
Also, thanks for fixing the "Identify" bug.

The latest beta version fixed the issue! I'm now able to use the profiles! Thanks for getting it worked out so quickly! I'll be sure to recommend your software for my clients that have multiple monitors!

@SchRita: Would you be able to try out DisplayFusion 4.1 Beta 10 (
http://www.displayfusion.com/Download/Beta/)? We've fixed up a couple of Monitor Configuration issues, so hopefully yours will be all sorted out now as well.
Thanks!
Hi!
Sorry for the late reply, I tried my own ways as well to fix it, so far with no success.
Here's the Toubleshoot log you asked and the results of the customer test as well.
I'm not so sure but the problem might be due to the special screensaver I'm using, if you want that I'll gladly send it to you.
Please let me know if I can be of any help to you in the future as well.
Thank you for your help and take it easy. ^^

No worries! Would you be able to try the following?
- Update to 4.1 Beta 13 (http://www.displayfusion.com/Download/Beta/)
- Enable debug logging on the DisplayFusion Settings > Troubleshooting tab (set it to Logging: Important Only)
- Delete your Monitor Profiles and recreate them (we've changed some stuff that could require the Monitor Profiles to be recreated)
- Try applying the Monitor Profiles
- If it still fails, please send the debug log, noting the time that the failure occurred (the DisplayFusion.log file can be found by clicking the Open Log button on the Troubleshooting tab)
Thanks!
Hi!
Sorry for the long wait, I was on vacation. ^^
I've tried what you suggested and it still not works the way I think it should be. I'm thinking of making a video of it, it might help you.
The time I made the changes: 2012/08/08 15:59:05. I loaded the profile called "Monitor" and it should activate only the monitor, set to primary but instead my monitor deactivates and my laptop screen remains active. Also, the profile manager says that "Detected Profile: Laptop", even though I am sure that I set up a different profile.
Whenever I try to set my monitor primary the result is the same. In the profile settings panel it shows my monitor as deactivated and I have to extend it again.
Sometimes I got a different error message as well, but I couldn't copy it and I haven't been able to recreate it. The only thing I remember is that it said that the problem is in connection with my monitor and "Error [-2]" or something like that.
I'm sorry that I couldn't be much of a help to you and that I still keep bothering you with this.

I know this is old but I'm having the same problem. I have the same setup as the OP and I'm getting the same message when I try to load the profile that contains the TV. I am using a trial of the Pro version. I just downloaded and installed it last week.
What setup are your monitors currently in when you try to load the profile? Are you in Surround mode, and then trying to load the profile for the two cloned monitors?

They are in surround, with a resolution set at 1920px so only the center monitor is displaying something.
Im trying to set one monitor and the tv on clone.

Ok, are you able to set them up as cloned if you use the Windows Screen Resolution settings instead of the DisplayFusion Monitor Configuration?
