Hello! I am working in Excel having at least two workbooks side to side and very often (if not always) the window I am working in deactivates - I can tell because I can't type anymore and the title bar text goes from white to gray as if not on top anymore.

This is frustrating - in a normal routine I am going from one window to another very often and the mouse clicks/keyboard typing activity confirm which window is and should be actively controlled. I have tried using the "Prevent Window Deactivation" for the working window function but it doesn't help. I found that it blocks Excel pop-ups from working. So I have to toggle the "Prevent Window Deactivation" on/off whenever I operate in a pop-up or change the active window. What is the correct approach to this situation? Can't I just have the window where I click my mouse as the active window? Is there a function I mistakenly activated?

Any chance you have the Xbox Beta app installed and running? If so, can you try closing that to see if the issue goes away?
