Windows 11
11.0 Beta 2

I've been noticing that if explorer.exe crashes and restarts (unsure if related to displayfusion), the additional taskbars disappear.

You then have to re-enable the multimonitor taskbars. Additionally, this causes several of the icons to be white circles instead of the actual icons.

We've got a similar issue on our list to fix up for 11 Beta 3, so we'll keep you posted when it's available to test out :)

Thanks!

We've released a new beta that should fix this up, you can grab it here: https://www.displayfusion.com/Download/Beta/. Please let me know if you run into any issues after updating.

This is still occurring with Beta 3.

Reproducible by restarting Explorer.exe from task manager. The secondary taskbars will not reappear when explorer restarts.

I think that I also have the same problem. Three of the four monitors do not show the explorer bar anymore.
Also when DisplayFusion is closed they are not coming back.

Is there a somekind "Reset to original" setting/button in DisplayFusion?

One thing I also notice that when DisplayFusion is running and I press on one of the start buttons of the "main monitor" and then I try to type something in the search bar the Explorer is minimized on that screen and the explorer on my main monitor is popping up and there I can search for the programm I want.

When the issue happens, you can right click on the DisplayFusion icon in the tray and select Multi-Monitor Taskbar->Enable All Taskbars and they will come back until explorer crashes again.

Could you send me a copy of your troubleshooting info? Here are the steps:

  • Open the Settings > Troubleshooting tab
  • Click the "Export Info to File" button
  • Reply with the file attached

Thanks for sending that over. When the taskbars disappear, do you still see DisplayFusion running in the tray, or in Task Manager?

We have a "Reset All Settings to Default" button in the DisplayFusion Settings > Troubleshooting tab as well.

You probably noticed I have a dual screen laptop. I disabled DisplayFusion at startup and there is no taskbar in my second screen when I restart my computer. Is this Reset function resetting Windows to is normal behaviour?

Ofcourse I will try to reset. :)

For me to use my computer as intended I have to start DisplayFusion.

The reset to Default is not working. The second task bar is not coming back when DisplayFusion is not running.

In the Windows Settings > Personalization > Taskbar Behaviors, do you have "Show my taskbar on all displays" enabled?

I did that and the windows taskbars are back.
But now when Displayfusion starts and I choose my setup the divided monitor is not showing a taskbar.

How can I get a taskbar on that screen?

Maybe an idea for future development.

As a user I want to be enable to set the beheaviour of my windows. When I exit Displayfusion I want to have my Windows taskbars and when DisplayFusion Starts I want the taskbars of Displayfusion.

Maybe somekind of checkbox "Restore system taskbar setting by exit DF"?

I've added this to our feature request list. We don't guarantee that feature requests will be implemented, or offer timelines on possible implementation. We'll be sure to let you know if we do add it to our planned features in a future version.

Thanks!
