The mult-monitor taskbar system tray has three extra icons for the 'local area connection'. No pop-ups occur when one hovers over these icons. These icons only appear when the 'show all icons' button in the system tray is expanded. ( BTW The hide icons feature is disabled on the main screen).
Strange! Which version of Windows are you running?

I checked to be sure and there is only one 'Local Area Connection' listed in the Network Connections window.
